The
Extremophiles 2008 meeting will be held in Cape Town.
Set on the southern tip of Africa and surrounded by sea,
mountains and vineyards, this beautiful city is a gateway
to exploring the wonders of Southern Africa.
Extremophiles, organisms thriving in extreme environments,
offer a challenge to understanding the fundamentals of molecular
and cellular function, and opportunities for sustainable exploitation.
This
conference will encompass the latest research developments
in a broad range of subjects including extremophile molecular
ecology, metagenomics,
physiology, genetics, protein structure and function and
biotechnology.
